ARGOVIA

ARGOVIA was commissioned as the compulsory piece for a brassband contest in Aargau (CH). The idea behind this piece is the particularity of Aargau, that two big swiss rivers flow together. Therefore, the different themes of the work are likewise flowing together, sometimes combining to a single one and sometimes superimposing each other. The slow middle part describes the resulting majestic river "Aare", flowing calm through the beautiful landscape, until it finally unites whith the mighty Rhine.
