ÅLM

Back in 2011, the "Verband Südtiroler Musikkapellen" (wind band association of South Tyrol) held a composition competition. Every submitted composition had to treat at least one of the given folk songs. My contribution ÅLM bases on the old local song "Auf der Ålm".
The basic idea of the work is a hiking tour in the alps. At the beginning, imagine a beautyful sunrise in the mountains. Then, in the fast middle movement, the dangers waiting in the alps can ber heard. And finally, the third and last part of the work describes the great satisfaction after a save return from such a tour.
ÅLM was awarded with the third price in the competition.
