TORRENTES

Torrentes tells the history of the village "Maria Trens", an old place of pilgrimage. According to the legend, a farmer found after a landslide a unharmed statue of Maria, which he took with him in his house, but disappeared overnight and was found in the nearby church. This legend is described in the first part of the piece. Therefore, i incorporated the well-known song "Wir ziehen zur Mutter der Gnaden" throughout this composition in varied styles and harmonics.

The second, fast-paced part describes the opposed character of the village. It lies near the so called Brenner Axis, an important traffic route and therefore quite busy and hectically.

The last part resembles the solemn reason of the piece, the 70th anniversary of the wind band. A majestic fanfare finishes the piece.
