VOITSBERG-FANFARE

From the very beginning of composing the Voitsberg fanfare, I sought to compose a striking fanfare along with a graceful hymn, whereby both themes should sound neither trivial nor predictable. In order to do credit to this personal guideline, I deliberately avoided ornamental embellishments that would only artificially complicate the work and obscure the themes. Instead, I gave the piece a clear structure and worked with sometimes maybe somewhat surprising harmonies.
