ECHO MONTIS

ECHO MONTIS is a festive opening fanfare that brings to life the echo of the mountains in radiant colors. Inspired by the majestic expanse of alpine landscapes, the piece combines the energy of a fanfare with subtle hints of alpine motifs. The work begins with striking brass calls that resound across the peaks like acoustic signals. Between the powerful climaxes, lyrical interludes shimmer: melodic lines that recall alpine themes. ECHO MONTIS is not merely an acoustic prelude, but a tribute to the sublime world of the mountains – a greeting from on high, carried by clarity, respect, and solemnity.

The piece was commissioned by the Musikkapelle Fiss and is dedicated to their honorary chairman Josef Kathrein and honorary conductor Josef Rietzler.
